Hi, _____

Thank you so much for having me in today.  It was such a pleasure to watch you work with our students.

Go ahead and fill out the post-observation reflection form, and feel free to use my raw notes attached.

I am looking forward to our upcoming discussion.

PostObservation Agenda
1. How's your year going? How's work/life balance? Kids update?
2. Quick Danielson quadrants review (in this lesson, the thing that most stood out to me is....)
3. Short discussion of Questions and suggestions (2-3 tops... maybe 1 or 2)
4. What are you learning this year? How are you improving your craft?

5. Talk about midterm

      1. What did you see from the pre-SLO?
      2. Did you have to make adjustments based on that or other formatives assessments?
      3. What are your plans from here on out?
         --------------------------------------------------------------

Here's a Bank of Questions (from John B) to help teacher reflection

General:
What went well, and what would you change about the lesson?

Domain 1:
How successful was the lesson in achieving the goal(s)?
What components of this lesson do you think best led to students achieving the learning & skill targets set forth
How does this lesson “fit” with the prior and future learning of students in class?
What do you hope the students will remember a week or two from now?

Domain 2:
How do you know the students are with you?
During discussion, what are your expectations of the students?
What are your thoughts about the level of student involvement over the 2 days?
When in discussion, have you given students adequate time to process and make connections?

Domain 3:
What are your thoughts on the discussion & questions that were asked?
How does this assessment help you (and the student) identify areas of growth as well as areas of needs?
As you reflect on the lessons, did your questioning promote student involvement with the subject matter, and where might you feel you could have improved?
How would students gauge their participation over the course of the day?  Where was it the highest and where were the lulls?
What have you been focusing on to improve student learning and how was this focus reflected in this lesson?
How do you know that all of your students are truly engaged?

Domain 4:
What would you change or do differently?
Where do you feel you need to grow as a professional?
Describe the instructional practices in which you have seen the greatest growth within yourself?
Where do you see growth in your instructional practices and design of your lesson since you begin teaching?
How has student learning changed during your career and how is that change shaping your teaching?
