Of "Each Other Moment," Greenbaum writes: "As a narrative, autobiographical poet, my most used pronoun would have to be I; thank goodness this poem was influenced by my friend Alice Elliott Dark's short story 'Rumm Road, written in the first-person plural. I remember feeling the power of her speaker voicing the experience of a time, and if you are in your sixties sitting with your sister-in-law on a hot summer day in New York City trying to order an ice tea but having trouble capturing the necessary QR code— while people who would formerly be actual waitstaff taking your order are walking around delivering drinks to other more nimble customers-the zeitgeist comes after you before the first sip. Some days it's a short hop from restaurant devolution to the earth's wholesale demise."
