Middle Season #28

Vines turn red in FB Woods, some pretty fungus in FB, toad lillies with a couple buds, and a stream of dry leaves collecting a low place just inside Bemis Woods.

10.4

  1. Heavy Overcast. Cool and very humid. 66 degrees and 88% humidity. Locust tree outside window with a few yellow fronds. Ocassional single leaves (more like petals) drift down
  2. 10/5. Maple leaves on patio. Dozens of them.
  3. Groups of birds flocks. First time noticing. Fall site.

    Very light sprinkles of rain.

    10/6

Maple leaves begin collecting along driveway

    10/7

Huge group, extremely loud grouping of birds (crows? Starlings?) in very tall trees on Ellington.  Hard to see them because trees still fully leafed.  Groups flying off to north.  Cacophony.

    10/8

Season of locust leaves coming into the house

Veeck park peen trees laden with pine cones
