I have approximately 10 years left working before I earn my pension. The current teachers contract contains a stipulation that strongly encourages me to retire as soon as I can. I've been idly thinking about next steps, especially since my post-divorce pension will not cover the mortgage and provide us with vacation money.
The guitar teacher article made me think that I could supplement with tutoring. Dennis and Harry moving to Chicago made me think that I need to begin to develop some "trade" that I could do post-retirement from anywhere... so that Jennie and I can move.

To round out the deal, Joey earlier this year secured a job as a front-desk agent for a Hilton hotel in Riverside, Calif., whose job perks include deeply discounted rooms at the more than 6,800 hotels across Hilton’s global portfolio of 18 brands.
