I'm re-thinking about "adding margins" to things on my calendar, so I'm not always rushing from thing to thing. During this time, I should stop, pause (like Tara Brach would say), and (a) record the "Next Step" that I should do in the area that I've been working in and, (b) reflect a little on the importance of that thing.
I don't want to overstate th efect of pomodors, but it does nag me in a good way to get stuff started and done. The 5-minute break is along the lines of the "margin," but most of the time I delete the break and keep working. Keeping track of these on my phone or computer also helps me have a record of the day, too.
Tara Brach says: "Learning to pause brings you to what's happening. The pause frees you from habits and patterns and creates a space for clarity and empathy and respond in a balanced way. You can remember what's really important."
(mostly from my diary on July 17, 2016)
