Good vacations are life changing. You see someplace new with new ways of doing things -- new ways of planting a garden or painting a house or serving a burrito. And you can bring back some things to change your life.
I'm recently back from a trip to Nashville and Asheville. Here are some things that I'd like to incorporate to change my life:
- Blueberries and good vanilla yogurt for breakfast
- Good oatmeal bread from a baker (with good butter and good preserves) for breakfast.
- The Sunday New York Times print edition.
- Learn to synthesize music; learn to play the Moog Synthesizer
- Pura Vida Bowl from Green Sage restarant. Here's a root vegetable breakfast skillet recipe that seems pretty close. I could make the skillet days ahead and just top it with eggs for a yummy and sustaining breakfast.
- Listen more to Todd Snider, an East Nashville musician that I read about at Harry and Dennis's house.
- Buy birthday cards from local artists, like ratbeepress.com. (and visit other print shops!). Here's Ratbee etsy site.
