Shauna Niequist, in her book Present Over Perfect, cites Richard Rohr's idea that "the tools that get you through the first half of your life are insufficient to get you through the second half."
Niequist also says that we should reflect on finding out calling by this thought exercise:
if someone gave you a completely blank calendar and a bank account as full as you wanted, what would you do?
