On 'Stopping By'

Jennie and I visited my parents yesterday on National Cinnamon Bun day and brought mom and dad some cinnamon buns we made earlier in the day.  The excuse for visiting was that we were going to return a pan that mom had brought over for some dinner a few weeks ago.  The next day mom texted: "Loved you 'stopping by' yesterday!"  She also sent me a picture of an old Cinnamon Bun recipe she had and asked me to compare it to my recipe.

I love the idea of "stopping by."  No fancy dinner.   Just stopping by for an hour or so.  We walked in mom's beautiful garden.  We helped measure a bedroom for dad's future ceiling fan project.  We sampled mom's peanut butter and M&M cookies.  They showed us some recent small home improvement projects they've been doing.  We chatted in the living room.  We "visited" and chatted and caught up about nothing in particular.  Then we went home to have dinner.  We left them

Here's to more "stopping by," even if it's socially-distanced.
