The first fruit of practice

Thich Nhat Hanh says in a talk on focusing on the breath that all you need to do it focus on "breath in and I know that I am breathing in" "Breath out and know that you are breathing out"... this helps us stop thinking, which he says "this is a miracle already." because it's so hard to not be constantly thinking.  

Over time, there is the one-ness of body and mind, which is  And the "first fruit of practice."

I love those two terms -- "first fruit of pratice" (with the implication that practice is like tending a garden and fruits will come" (and this is only the first of them) -- and "a miracle already" which highlights
